What is GST?
GST is a single tax on the supply of goods and services. That means the end consumer will only bear the GST charged by the last dealer in the supply chain. Several economists and experts see this as the most ambitious tax reform since independence. GST will eventually replace all indirect taxes levied on goods and services by the central and state governments, and is expected to liberate India of its complex indirect taxation structure.
How is GST applied?
The goods and services tax (GST) is an indirect federal sales tax that is applied to the cost of certain goods and services. The business adds GST to the price of the product, and a customer who buys the product pays the sales price inclusive of GST. The GST portion is collected by the business or seller and forwarded to the government. It is also referred to as Value-Added Tax (VAT) in some countries.
Why does Simpled charge us GST when other companies in the US don't?
Since we are a company incorporated and registered in India, we are governed by Indian tax regulations. We are required by Indian law to collect GST on all our sales and deposit it to the government on a monthly basis.

The number of schools visited during the smart tours is around 20 covering 4-5 cities in the total 8-10 days. Overall the number of students interacted is between 1500 to 2500, depending on the region.
Smart tours may begin early in the morning around 6 am with a meeting in the lobby of the hotel with the SimplED tour leader. This will be followed by a visit to the first school.
In most schools, a welcome program awaits visitors. Visitors then interact with students. Depending on the number of students participating, this interaction takes place in auditoriums or classrooms. A collective presentation of approximately 15-20 minutes is followed by a discussion with students. Before we leave, we meet with the principal and counselor. The average time we spend in school is 1.5 hours. A typical day usually involves three school visits.
Each school is unique and designed in collaboration with the school staff. The most common format that we follow is a combination of presentation and mini-fair.
In most scenarios, we present to the students for about 15-20 minutes in order to introduce the universities and their programs. This is followed by a mini-fair, where students get the opportunity to interact with the participating institutions at their tables.
In each tour, we strive to connect the participating institution with the local education ecosystem. Some of the events that are typically featured on our are tours are listed below:
Meet & greet with local educators.
Visit to EducationUSA centers.
Meet & greet with local agents.
Open house for parents & principals.
Sightseeing & cultural exploration.
